GICLEE PRINTS: A Solution for Every Budget

Giclee prints are a common solution for situations where location appropriate artwork is needed in quantity. This often occurs in the hospitality industry, where hundreds or thousands of rooms must be decorated to a luxurious standard. We have also found applications for Giclee prints in residential developments, office buildings, restaurants and sporting or social clubs.

Giclees are created on a special printer with archival quality inks. This allows them a 100 year lifespan without fading. Giclees are normally done on canvas, and framed in the same manner as an original work. Sometimes highlights are added by hand after printing is complete. Using this method, prints can be created with a richness of color and detail that makes the print almost indistinguishable from an original work.

For printing projects, selection of artworks and frames is critical. We have access to a unique inventory of antique maps and Hawaiian imagery, in addition to the works of our team of artists. Custom works can also be commissioned for duplication as Giclees. This allows for a limitless selection of styles and subject matter, while ensuring the works maintain a deep connection to our Hawaiian culture, history and environment. We source frames and mattes from range of local and international suppliers. Frames commonly feature fine tropical hardwoods with solid or veneer finishes, or styles reminiscent of traditional Polynesian crafts.

Our consulting process encourages cooperation between artists and client. Our advice and council comes from over 20 years of experience in design, and our base of over 30 artists.
